On November 18, 2024, the National Agricultural Advisory Committee (NAAC), under the Feed the Future initiative supported by USAID, launched a transformative training program aimed at boosting agricultural productivity, improving nutrition, and driving economic growth in Uganda. A key partner in this initiative, ET is empowering youth in agriculture by delivering comprehensive training in business entrepreneurship.

The program targets 1,000 young participants from Masindi and Pakwach districts in the Buliisa region, running from November 19 to November 30, 2024. ET’s specialized modules are designed to equip participants with essential entrepreneurial skills, including mindset transformation, business plan development, market strategy creation, distribution techniques, business model canvassing, and pitch deck preparation.

A significant milestone of this training is to produce 200 well-structured business plans ready for review and potential funding. These plans will be submitted to existing government programs such as the Parish Development Model (PDM) and the newly established “We Grow Uganda” initiative, ensuring the trainees have access to critical resources to launch and scale their agribusinesses.

This initiative underscores ET’s commitment to fostering youth participation in agriculture, promoting innovation, and driving sustainable economic development in Uganda
