Ritah Najjemba Lutaya's Journey to Agripreneurial Success

Ritah Najjemba Lutaya, a driven young entrepreneur, embarked on a transformative journey in 2018. As a trainee in a three-month incubation process facilitated by ENABLE-TAAT in partnership with Agripreneurship Alliance, Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences (SLU), and African Managers Institute (AMI), Ritah’s potential was about to be unlocked.

During this intensive training, Ritah developed an outstanding business plan for her venture, Oikos Business Enterprise. Her hard work and vision paid off when she won a $1,000 prize from the Agripreneurship Alliance. This funding was the catalyst Ritah needed to expand her piggery business, turning her aspirations into reality.

Ritah’s success story highlights the tangible benefits of strategic support and comprehensive training, showcasing how young entrepreneurs can thrive with the right opportunities and resources.

From Classroom to Farm: Achiles Kalyongo's Journey to Sustainable Agriculture

Achiles Kalyongo, a dedicated physics teacher, faced an unexpected career shift when the COVID-19 pandemic led to school closures in 2020. At 30, he sought new opportunities and found them through ENABLE-TAAT training. This program revealed his passion for rabbitry and the production of organic manure using rabbit urine and droppings.

With newfound knowledge and enthusiasm, Achiles launched Maxima Organic Manure, supplying sustainable fertilizer to farmers in Greater Masaka. His journey from educator to agripreneur not only provided him with a new livelihood but also contributed significantly to promoting sustainable agriculture in his community.
